Female buttocks function as metaphors for traits that a society values or rejects. Their meanings vary between cultures and among ethnic groups; while a bounteous butt may bring out disgust or disdain in some social circles, it evokes a range of positive associations in others.

I like big butts...and I cannot lie...
Ok, just had to throw that in there. I've never understood why white women have historically felt the need to diet the butt into submission. One of my white female friends is constantly dieting because she thinks her butt is too large, something she says she inherited from her German and Scotch ancestry. I think her butt looks great and that she doesn't need to do anything about it. She told me that would be fine if she were dating black guys but that white guys in her age group expect flat butts.

Indeed, the "perfect" woman by fashion designer standards has relatively small breasts, a flat waist, narrow hips, and skinny legs. A woman with too many curves poses too much of a challenge for the designer.
When my ex-wife was heavy, she had a BIG butt and it was hilarious on just how often black guys would hit on her!
I once overheard a coworker saying she knew she was getting too fat because black guys were starting to hit on her. As a black guy I certainly had no problem with how she looked.
