Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" takes place all over the world as part of V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls. Performances this year used taboo comedy and startling "vagina facts" to get their message across. Many women are forced into silence about the violence against them. Women are summoned to workshops on self-defense in an effort to prevent rape. Instead of men being taught not to rape. Women don't put themselves at risk, rapist put the women we love at risk. "The Vagina Monologues" is a wonderful experience. The monologues are based on hundreds of interviews with women of all ages about their vaginas. I attended one on Valentines Day. My favorite "My Angry Vagina," addressed the vagina's anger toward thong underwear and gynecologists' cold ducklips. Something I didn't know prior to attending is the number of women around the world that are terrorized by genital mutilation. Nearly 130 million women and girls in 30 countries have experienced genital mutilation. These acts result in physical and emotional scaring and early death. So I am introducing the first Newsvine Vagina Monologues So ladies if your vaginas could talk, what would it say? Men show your support. No penis monologues but speak out and stand up for an end to violence against women.
